chooseMyplate
ChooseMyPlate is a website that allows individuals to build healthier habits and learn proportion sizes when it comes to plating their meals and, overall, makes eating healthy easy.
One of my personal favorite features is the MyPlate, MyState category where you can see what foods, recipes, and flavors that are popular within each state across the United States. Here are a list of some of the fruits, vegetables, grains, and proteins popular within our state, California!

The most helpful feature on the website is the Healthy Eating On A Budget feature where it teaches novice grocery shoppers how to make a grocery list, make weekly meal plans, and be more time efficient at the grocery store. This is especially helpful for college students who never faced this struggle until they began living on their own.
One of the biggest misconceptions regarding eating healthy is how grocery shopping and buying healthier foods is more expensive, when it actually isn't. The shop smart to fill your cart section educates readers how grocery shopping can be low cost and how to shop for items within each aisle. One of the most important and key features under this category is the Read the Food Label section. After taking my first course on nutrition in college is when I learned how to understand food labels and choose certain products over another. This tool can help shoppers understand the nutrients within the foods they're buying and compare it to much healthier options or brands.

Specific to college students, ChooseMyPlate has resources for students on campus to learn more on how to choose their meals at dining halls, mini fridge, and staying fit on campus. Although Foods2Choose covers healthy options at specific restaurants on campus, it doesn't cover dining hall foods because the options change often. ChooseMyPlate gives students eating at dining halls more tips on what to choose in order to ensure you're not overeating and eating clean.
