The statistics on students skipping breakfast daily is overwhelming. These can be due to multiple factors such as not having enough time to cook, not having groceries, or not knowing what to make. All of the following recipes cost ~$10 and ingredients can be used to make the breakfast multiple times.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially for college students, because it speeds up your metabolism, gives you energy, and allows you to focus during the day. Our brains are a high energy consumption organ that uses 30% of our bodies total energy. With that being said, skipping breakfast, or having a low quality breakfast, may impact our cognitive function.

Ingredients:

- Oats/granola

- Milk [alternative]

- Fruit 

- Peanut/almond butter

Another fast breakfast would be a boiled egg breakfast bowl. Eggs can be boiled the night before and cut up along with other toppings the next morning. Eggs are a great source of protein, vitamins and minerals. Avocados are a great source of healthy fats and spinach is a great source of vitamin C and folate.

Overnight oats are a simple breakfast meal that can be quickly made the night before and taken to go- perfect for a college student that's on a time crunch. These can be modified to fit any diet using milk alternatives. By using the ingredients below, your breakfast is a great source of healthy fats and vitamins and minerals.
